  1. Client Initiates Access: Your client can electronically grant you access directly through their My Account.
  2. Confirmation & Access: Once authorized, you’ll receive a notification, and you can log in to Represent a Client using your CRA user ID and password to manage your client’s tax information.

With Represent a Client, you can handle various tax tasks for your clients, including:

  • Filing tax returns electronically for faster processing.
  • Accessing client notices of assessment (NOA) and other important documents.
  • Communicating with the CRA regarding your client’s tax file.

5. Auto-Fill my Return (AFR)

Auto-Fill my Return (AFR) is a service that allows individuals and authorized representatives to pre-fill sections of their income tax and benefit return with information already on file with the CRA. This feature is available through certified software and can be used for the current tax year plus the previous seven tax years.

  1. Tax Software: Use a NETFILE-certified software that supports Auto-Fill My Return.
